J GROUPでは、ミャンマーの難民の子供たちへ生活費や授業料の支援を行っています。この支援を受けた子供たちからは、生活や学習に対する考え方がどのように変わったか、また近況について、子供たちからいただいた手紙の内容を掲載していきます。
厳しい環境の中でも、彼女たちの未来に希望を持ち続ける姿勢には私たちも学ぶことが多くあります。
＜Nan Yin Htayさんからの手紙＞
November began with mixed feelings. I was excited about the trip to Mae Sot, where I would gain valuable insights and experience. The White Coat Ceremony and Excellence Award were also significant milestones, marking the transition from a student to a future healthcare professional. However, the upcoming final exams added a layer of pressure, making it a challenging but rewarding month.
11月は複雑な思いで始まりました。メーソートへの旅に期待を抱き、貴重な洞察や経験を得られることに胸を躍らせていました。また、ホワイトコートセレモニーと優秀学生賞は、学生から未来の医療専門家への移行を象徴する重要な節目でもありました。しかし、期末試験が控えていることから、プレッシャーも感じており、挑戦的でありながらも充実した1か月となりました。
I was traveling alone from Chiang Rai to Mae Sot to attend the 3 day’s grand opening orientation workshops hosted by the Suwanimit Foundation. The Suwannimit Foundation is a local Thai organization that provides essential services to underprivileged areas along the Thailand-Myanmar border by building collaborative relationships with community-based partners. The workshop included PSEA and safeguarding risk assessment, project cycle management, monitoring and evaluation, and finance management. I learned a lot about critical thinking and how to plan and manage a project effectively. Numerous practicing professors shared their experience and knowledge of project planning. Furthermore, I met a lot of intelligent individuals from many teams who also won the grant as my team and I got so many ideas and know the situation that they brought to the workshop that inspired me and understand more about the situation of migrant people in Thailand. I am glad that I met many of the people who also would like to help and improve the situation and work for the migrant people. This orientation provided me with fresh and valuable knowledge, allowing me to better utilize my skills and expertise in real-world settings.
私は、チェンライからメーソートまで一人で旅をして、スワンニミット財団が主催する3日間の盛大なオリエンテーションワークショップに参加しました。スワンニミット財団は、タイとミャンマーの国境沿いの恵まれない地域に対し、地域ベースのパートナーと協力関係を築きながら、必要不可欠なサービスを提供しているタイの地域組織です。このワークショップでは、PSEA（性搾取及び虐待防止）とリスク評価、プロジェクトサイクル管理、モニタリングと評価、財務管理などがテーマに取り上げられました。批判的思考やプロジェクトを効果的に計画・管理する方法について多くを学びました。多くの実務経験を持つ教授たちが、プロジェクト計画に関する経験や知識を共有してくださいました。さらに、同様に助成金を獲得した多くのチームの優秀なメンバーに出会い、それぞれが持ち寄った状況やアイデアに触れ、多くの刺激を受けました。これにより、タイの移民問題についてより深く理解することができました。同じ志を持ち、移民の人々を支援し状況を改善しようとする多くの人々と出会えたことを嬉しく思っています。このオリエンテーションを通じて、新しく貴重な知識を得ることができ、それを実際の現場で活用する準備が整ったと感じています。
On November 17, the School of Health Science from Mae Fah Luang University organized a White Coat Ceremony and Student Academic Excellence Award for the year 2023. The White Coat Ceremony was a big moment for me. Because it was the beginning of my path as a future Public Health worker. Wearing the white coat made me feel proud and prepared for the challenges that lay ahead. I am ready for the community trail for the year ahead. And also I am very proud of myself for being one of the students who has received the Academic Excellence Award for the year 2023. I believe that all of my hard work has paid off. This award inspires me to continue aiming for excellence in all that I do.
11月17日には、メーファールアン大学の保健科学部がホワイトコートセレモニーと2023年の学生学術優秀賞の授与式を開催しました。ホワイトコートセレモニーは、私にとって大きな瞬間でした。未来の公衆衛生の専門家としての道の始まりを象徴するものだからです。白衣を身にまとったことで、これからの挑戦に立ち向かう準備が整ったと実感し、誇りを感じました。また、2023年の学術優秀賞を受賞した学生の一人であることにも大きな誇りを感じています。これまでの努力が報われたと信じています。この賞は、これからも全てにおいて卓越を目指していこうとする私の原動力となりました。
Now I am in the middle of the final exam and still, the Pharmacy subject was the most challenging for me. However, on November 27, I completed the Pharmacy exam as well as three other subjects: Public Health Laboratory Analysis, Epidemiology, and Basic Health Assessment. The remaining subjects, Pathophysiology for Public Health, Infectious and Emerging Diseases, and Apply Biostatistics, will begin on December 2, 3, and 4, in that order. After that, the first semester of the third year will be complete.
As I reflect on the past month, I am grateful for the positive and hard experiences that have changed me. The path has been difficult, but the rewards have been worth all the sleepless nights and hard work. I will continue to work on my goal as best as I can.
現在、期末試験の真っ只中にいますが、中でも薬学の科目が最も難しいと感じています。しかし、11月27日には薬学の試験を無事終え、公衆衛生検査、疫学、基本健康評価の3科目の試験も終了しました。残る科目である「公衆衛生のための病態生理学」「感染症および新興感染症」「応用生物統計学」は、それぞれ12月2日、3日、4日に試験があります。それが終わると、3年生前期の学期が終了します。
過去1か月を振り返ると、自分を変えてくれた良い経験も困難な経験も含めて感謝しています。この道のりは決して楽ではありませんでしたが、寝る間も惜しんで努力してきたことは報われたと感じています。これからも、自分の目標に向かって全力を尽くしていきたいと思います。
